The main emphasis of EYFS Green Grass Nursery curriculum is to plan activities based on the interests and developmental level of the child. Our educators will conduct meaningful theme planning based on the Early Years Foundation Stage ( EYFS ) framework which explains how and what the child will be learning to support their healthy development. Children of EYFS Green Grass Nursery will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development.

1- The Three Prime Areas in EYFS Green Grass Nursey Curriculum:

  • Personal, Social & Emotional Development (PSED): The development of self- esteem, personal values and an understanding of self and others.

  • Communication and Language (C&L): This focuses on children developing competence in understanding, talking and listening.

  • Physical Development (PD): Our children learn to develop physical control, mobility, awareness of space, manipulative skills, indoors and outdoors.

As children grow in EYFS Green Grass Nursey, the Prime Areas will help to develop skills in 4 specific areas as listed below.

2- The Four Specific Areas:

  • Literacy (Lit): The use of rhyming and phonic knowledge to promote the development of reading and writing.

  • Mathematics (Ma): We focus on achievement through practical activities and on using and understanding language in the development of simple mathematical ideas.

  • Understanding the World (UW): We focus on developing children knowledge and understanding of their environment, other people and features of the natural and made world. This encourages later learning in Science and Technology.

  • Expressive Arts and Design (Ex A&D): The development of imagination and ability to express ideas and feelings in creative ways e.g. through art and music.
